My name is Hannah Milde and I'm the sports coordinator at Hereford Sixth Form College. The main focus of my role is to get students engaged in sporting activities. I am also tasked with increasing competition and improving the Leadership and volunteering opportunities available to students.
To date I have organised a range of clubs that are available to all students at no fee with transport and equipment provided wherever possible. The opportunities on offer are always planned for the benefit of the Sixth Form Students taking into account their sporting interests, timetables, exams and other curriculum factors.
The HSFC Leadership academy was launched last Year with students from all aspects of College life signed up. The academy supports students already involved in volunteering or facilitates others to find placements in their chosen sport or school. Students involved have signed up to the Youth Sport Trust's Step into Sport initiative which awards young people volunteering in sport.
The choice of sports available is decided by you, the student via a questionnaire entitled 'Lets get Physical' which you fill in during the induction week so make sure you fill it in thoroughly and get your say! Details of enrichment activities are posted on this enrichment website and on notice board; on the TV screens dotted around College and are regularly announced in tutorials. I am also always contactable via email (hcm@hereford.ac.uk) or in the sports office. I look forward to meeting many of you next term, Hannah.
